1. (C) MFA Secretary General Mohamed Lemine Ould Moulaye
Zeine told DCM it was his personal view that Mauritania would
support the UNSC resolution on Lebanon as Mauritania has
previously publicly stated it would join Arab League
consensus on the issue. However, the government would
unlikely make a public statement until the council of
ministers meeting on August 16.
2. (C) Ambassador will discuss the situation in Lebanon with
the Foreign Minister on August 17 during his farewell call.
