1. On June 12, Poloff delivered reftel demarche to the
Director of International Organizations at the Ministry of
Foreign Affairs Ambassador Telmidi Ould Mohamed Amar.
Ambassador Amar agreed in principle with the idea of using
the first UNHRC meeting to &set the procedures for the
organization8 and &avoid potentially contentious issues.8
2. Amar said he would pass the information along to his
superiors, who would in turn send instructions to
Mauritania,s permanent mission to the UN. Poloff left a
French translation of the talking points as a non paper.
