1. On May 17, Poloff delivered reftel message to Stelios
Makriyiannis, who handles Africa in the MFA's Political
Affairs Division. Makriyiannis agreed to pass the points
forward and said that Cyprus would continue to support the
EU's position on Darfur. In addition, the ROC agreed during
the May 15 EU Foreign Minister's meeting, to send one
military officer as part of the EU's operation in the Congo
(EUFOR RD Congo).
