1. (SBU) On February 10, poloff delivered reftel message to
Charalambos Hadjisavvas, who follows Middle Eastern issues in
the MFA's office of bilateral affairs. Hadjisaavas confirmed
that Cyprus's assistance policy was in line with that of the
EU and the U.S. The MFA was keenly watching events in the
Palestinian Authority, and Hadjisavvas said that he was aware
that several Arab countries had taken steps to encourage
Fatah to form a coalition with Hamas.
