1. (C) Summary: Total headcount of U.S.-assisted arrivals in
Cyprus as of 1600L remained unchanged at 13,231. 9,944 had
departed with U.S. government assistance by 1600L on July 28.


CONSULAR


2. (C) The following are consular updates:

--The total number of U.S.-assisted arrivals in Cyprus as of
1600L remained unchanged at 13,231 (though a helicopter was
due to arrive at 1600L with 40 people, total TBC). Total
U.S.-assisted departures on charter flights remained
unchanged at 9,944. Two charter flights are still scheduled
to depart at 0200L (capacity 550) and at 2300L (approximate
capacity 280) on July 29. The Orient Queen will now arrive
at 1700L July 29 with eleven official Americans from Embassy
Beirut and approximately 400 passengers.

--Approximately 494 people are still at the Cyprus
International Fairgrounds. Of these, CONS estimates that
between 85-150 are awaiting DHS adjudication decisions or
interviews.

MANAGEMENT


3. (U) Management is planning hotel arrangements for Orient
Queen passengers who will remain after the July 29 charter
flights are filled.
