(SBU) Charge met with Chad Ministry of Foreign Affairs
Secretary General Yoosem-Kontou on October 12, 2006 to
SIPDIS
deliver points (reftel) on North Korea and provide a copy of
the President's statement. Yoosem-Kontou assured Charge that
Chad counted itself among those members of the international
community which consider North Korea's recent nuclear test a
worrisome act. He acknowledged that Chad had not issued any
statements on the matter, but thought that such a statement
could well be made by the President of the Chadian National
Assembly, or by the Chadian Ambassador to the UN in New York.
He stated that he would raise the issue with the Foreign
Minister.
