(C) On July 11, Poloff spoke with Ministry of Foreign Affairs
Permanent Secretary Dr. Patricia Rodgers. Dr. Rodgers, who
had received additional information from Bahamian Ambassador
to CARICOM Leonard Archer after discussions with Post July 7
(reftel),said CARICOM had reached "general consensus" to
support Venezuela as the regional representative to the
United Nations Security Council. However, Dr. Rodgers said
that two nations, Guyana and The Bahamas, "reserved formal
support of the consensus." She added that while The Bahamas
may still vote for Venezuela, it did not commit to do so at
the CARICOM Heads of Government meetings.
