1. Kenya sent Embassy Nairobi a diplomatic note indicating
it will support the candidacy of Professor Ruth Wedgwood for
the UN Human Rights Committee (UNHRC).

MFA 33/214/001

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kenya
presents its compliments to the Embassy of the United States
of America in Nairobi and has the honor to acknowledge
receipt of the latter's note number 677 dated 2nd June 2006,
requesting Kenya's support for the (sic) Professor Wedgwood's
candidacy for re-election to a seat on the United Nations
Human Rights Committee.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kenya has
the honor to inform that Kenya shall support Professor
Wedgwood's re-election bid.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kenya
avails itself of this opportunity to renew to the Embassy of
the United States of America, the assurances of its highest
consideration.
