1. (U) As reported in regional and international media,
including by the Syrian Arab News Agency, Oman was not/not
represented in a four-day conference of Israel Boycott
Liaison Officers that began May 15 in Damascus.


2. (SBU) A senior contact in the Foreign Ministry reiterated
to P/E Chief May 16 that Omani officials have long ago been
instructed to reject invitations for any meetings that
support economic boycotts, including the Arab League boycott
of Israel. He underscored that Oman will continue to adhere
steadfastly to this policy.
