(S) Pol/Econ Chief November 1 delivered Ref A demarche
concerning UNSCR 1718 obligations on DPRK conventional arms
and Ref B letter from Under Secretary Joseph to MFA Assistant
Under Secretary for Coordination and Follow Up Shaikh Abdul
Aziz bin Mubarak Al Khalifa. Shaikh Abdul Aziz said Bahrain
would implement the requirements of UNSCR 1718 as fully as
possible. Bahrain will "do its share" to prevent the
possibility of flow of weapons and luxury goods to or from
North Korea. He pledged to write an urgent memo to relevant
Bahraini authorities about implementing the resolution's
requirements. Shaikh Abdul Aziz noted that the GOB had no
dealings with the DPRK and welcomed any U.S. information
about Bahraini company or other engagement with North Korea.
