(C) In a meeting covering several subjects (septels),the 
Ambassador June 25 delivered reftel demarche concerning the 
temporary international mechanism for assistance to the 
Palestinians to Foreign Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed Al 
Khalifa. The Ambassador emphasized that the Quartet took 
this initiative to ameliorate the humanitarian crisis faced 
by the Palestinians. Shaikh Khalid listened carefully and 
agreed that creating the new mechanism was an important thing 
to do.
