1. (U) Charge delivered reftel points to Deputy Foreign
Minister Bozo Cerar who supported the USG proposal and had
the MFA issue the following statement on June 1:
Slovenia supports all initiatives for a diplomatic solution
to the Iran nuclear issue. We welcome the proposal of the US
Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice for the US to join the

EU3 (France, Germany, and Great Britain) in negotiations with
Iran. We believe that direct US participation in this
process would be a positive contribution to a constructive
dialogue with Iran.
