1. Poloff met with Ministry of Foreign Affairs Director of
Political Affairs Paul Chiunguzeni on December 7,2006, to
discuss reftel talking points. Poloff presented the points,
along with the two proposed texts, and laid out the problems
with the Angolan text. Chiunguzeni said he needed to confer
with colleagues, and would then try and discuss the matter
with Malawi's Permrep to the U.N. on the evening of December
7. Post suggests that the talking points be delivered
directly to Malawi's Permrep in New York as well. Any
further information will be reported septel.
