(C) The Charge d'Affaires delivered ref A demarche to MFA
Acting Undersecretary Ambassador Khaled Al-Babtain during a
meeting on June 11. Al-Babtain said that the U.S. and Kuwait
were "in the same boat and share the same fears" on Iran, and
that Kuwaiti officials had clearly communicated these
concerns to the Iranians as well as other to officials from
other countries, like Russia and China. He noted, however,
that many members of the non-aligned movement (NAM) remained
concerned that pressure on Iran to abandon portions of its
nuclear program was not balanced by equal pressure on Israel.
