Three peaceful demonstrations took place in the city of Kirkuk
in reaction to the incident in Samara.
February 22: two protests took place at separate mosques: the
first included some 125 Sadr supporters; the second was a larger
gathering of approximately 350 people.
February 23: 4000 individuals assembled in Southern Kirkuk. No
further information at this time.
We have had no reports thus far of demonstrations in Erbil or
Sulaymaniyah.
All protests thus far have been peaceful and no violence has
been reported as of 1345 Iraq time Thursday.
