No acts of international terrorism of major significance
occurred in Jamaica in 2006.

Safe Haven Assessment


--------------------------


Jamaica is not known as a safe haven for terrorists or
terrorist organizations.

Terrorist Groups/Organizations


--------------------------


Jamaica is not known to have any groups which actively
practiced international terrorism during 2006.

Foreign Government Cooperation


--------------------------


To post's knowledge, the U.S. has not sought the Government
of Jamaica (GoJ)'s cooperation during the previous five years
in the investigation or prosecution of an act of
international terrorism against U.S. citizens or interests.



2. Beginning in March, 2007, the Caribbean region will host
the Cricket World Cup (CWC) series, which will attract
hundreds of thousands of cricket fans from around the world,
including thousands from the Indian subcontinent. The
matches will be held at stadia throughout the region.
Security and counter-terrorism are serious regional concerns;
certain aspects specific to Jamaica will be delineated via
classified septel.
