SUBJECT: DEATH OF AMCIT ROSAMOND CARR
1. On Friday, Ms. Rosamond Carr passed away at her residence in
Gisenyi, Rwanda. She had been feeling ill for the past several
weeks and had been visited regularly by a local doctor. The local
physician, Dr. Erasme Sarambuye, was with her at the time of death.
2. Ms. Carr was born on August 28, 1912 in New Jersey. Passport
number Z7560049 was issued on June 11, 1997.
3. Consular Officer was notified on Friday evening at 9:30pm by Ms.
Rosamond Carr's staff that she had passed away at 9:00pm that
evening.
4. Next of kin (NOK) is Ann Halsey Roehrs, who lives in
Pennsylvania. She was notified Friday evening by CA/OCS and asked
for an immediate burial to take place in Rwanda.
5. The remains were buried at Ms. Carr's orphanage/farm in Mugongo,
Rwanda on Sunday October 1, 2006.
