December 24, 2006

Excellency,

I have the honour to acknowledge the receipt of your
warm message of greetings and best wishes conveyed through
Ambassador Mr. James Francis Moriarty. I take this
opportunity to reciprocate in full the sentiments that you
and the first lady Madam Bush have so kindly expressed to me.
On the eve of the Merry Christmas and the Happy New Year
2007, I, on behalf of the people and Government of Nepal as
well as on my own, extend to you and the friendly people of
the United States of America our best wishes and warm
greetings.

The successful conclusion of the ongoing peace process
will be the most important achievement for the people of
Nepal in the New Year 2007. Your continued goodwill and
support will be of immense value as we are passing through a
critical phase of transition towards lasting peace and
stability; full-fledged and inclusive democracy; and
sustainable economic development and prosperity.

Please accept, Excellency, the assurances of my highest
consideration and esteem.
