SUBJECT: POST REQUEST TO DESIGNATE DAVID TIEDGE AS DHS
REPRESENTATIVE FOR IRELAND

Post wishes to request that the U.S. Department of Homeland
Security (DHS) designate David Tiedge, Embassy London Senior
DHS Representative/Transportation Security Administration
(TSA) Senior International Advisor, as Senior DHS
Representative for Ireland. As with his NSDD38 position
description for the UK, Mr. Tiedge would be responsible for
the coordination of DHS activities with Ireland and would be
the principal DHS point of contact for the Ambassador and
Deputy Chief of Mission. In addition to his current
geographic responsibility for TSA programs in Ireland, Mr.
Tiedge would oversee the activities of other DHS agencies,
including U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP),U.S.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE),the U.S. Secret
Service, and the U.S. Coast Guard. Post makes this request
in the belief that Mr. Tiedge's designation as DHS Senior
Representative for Ireland would strengthen our coordination
with Washington on DHS issues.
