On July 5, emboff delivered reftel report on the June 11
incident at Shannon Airport to Irish Department of Foreign
Affairs International Security Policy Deputy Director David
Leahy. Leahy agreed to pass the report along to his
supervisors in the Department of Foreign Affairs, to the
Department of Justice, and to the Garda (the Irish police).
He also signaled the GOI's intent to comply with the USG
request that the report remain a bilateral matter and not a
public document. Post will relay any further GOI comments on
this matter.
