(U) Poloff delivered reftel demarche to Mawazo Paul Kaducha,
head of UN Systems at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs'
Multilateral Division, on February 27. Kaducha said the
Government of Tanzania (GOT) would review the request to make
a public statement condemning the bombing of the Al-Askariya
shrine, but had not yet planned to make such a statement.
Comment: As of March 10, the Government of Tanzania had not
issued any statement on the shrine bombing. End comment.
