3. (C) Post recommends that more regular updates on the
status of Department of State and Treasury actions on
terrorism financing be sent out to posts. This could include
updates on terrorism financing designations, upcoming agenda
items and key outcomes of the intra-agency task force on
terrorism finance, and new issues in terrorism finance with
regional implications.


4. (C) Post reviewed the Syria specific information on the
CIA chart. As noted in this year's International Narcotics
Control Strategy Report for Syria on Financial Crimes and
Money Laundering, Syria's Anti-Money Laundering Commission is
acting as the Financial Intelligence Unit for Syria.
Additionally, post would recommend downgrading the indicator
for "Timely Sharing of Terror Finance Information" from
occasionally to rarely.
