1. (SBU) As promised in reftel A, Post is providing the
SARG's March 2 written response to a query about its stance
toward the following international instruments as requested
in reftel B. While the following information differs in some
cases from that provided for last year's report, it is the
most up-to-date assessment provided by the SARG:
-- ILO Convention 25 ) not ratified.
-- ILO Convention 105 ) ratified (according to Presidential
Order No. 1240 dated 1958).
-- ILO Convention 182 Concerning the Prohibition and
Immediate Action for the Elimination of the Worst Forms of
Child Labor ) ratified according to Decree No. 396 of
11/4/2002.
-- Convention on the Rights of the Child ) joined on
7/15/1993. Optional Protocol on Sale of Children ) joined
on 5/15/2003.
-- UN Convention Against Transnational Organized Crime )
signed on 12/15/2004. The related Protocol to Prevent,
Suppress, and Punish Trafficking in Persons, Especially Women
and Children ) signed on 12/13/2000.
