(C) On April 25 and 26, we delivered Ref A and B demarches to
Senegalese President Abdoulaye Wade, Senior Minister for
Foreign Affairs Cheikh Tidiane Gadio, Minister of Armed
Forces Becaye Diop, and Armed Forces Chief of Staff (CHOD)
LTG P.K. Fall. President Wade still supports NATO assistance
to the African Union Mission in Sudan (AMIS) (Ref D). We
note that Senegalese troops were not at either location where
AMIS failed to intervene to protect civilians.
