Pol off relayed reftel points with Ambassador Tyge Lehmann,
MFA Senior Advisor for International Law. Lehmann confirmed
that Denmark wants to see the vote on the Third Additional
Protocol go forward at the 29th International Red Cross and
Red Crescent conference. Lehmann asserted that Denmark and
the other EU members will not vote to adjourn the conference.
Denmark believes that the addition of the symbol and new
societies should not be seen as political commentary on the
current climate in the Middle East but rather as a neutral,
humanitarian statement that should be supported.
