1. The Argentine Foreign Ministry released the following
statement regarding the North Korean nuclear test on October
9, 2006.
2. Begin text: The Argentine Government condemns the
underground nuclear test conducted today by the Democratic
Peoples Republic of Korea (DPRK),which poses a threat to
international peace and security.
Once again, Argentina urges the DPRK to return as soon as
possible to the Six Party negotiations.
As a member of the Board of Governors of the International
Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and of the UN Security Council,
the Argentine Republic will continue working together with
the other members of these organizations to find a solution
to this grave situation. End text.
