No.IR/2006/201

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of Barbados
presents its compliments to the Embassy of the United States
of America and has the honour to refer to its Diplomatic
Notes No. 0650 dated May 26, 2006 and No. 1027 dated August
28, 2006 on its candidature of Professor Ruth Wedgwood for
re-election to a seat on the United Nations Human Rights
Committee at the elections to be held during the meeting of
States Parties to the International Covenant on Civil and
Political Rights at the United Nations Headquarters on
September 7, 2006.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade wishes to
recall that the Government of Barbados has presented its
candidature to the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) for
the period 2007-2009, at elections to be held during the 61st
Session of the United Nations General Assembly in 2006 and
would wish to propose an offer of reciprocal support for the
two candidatures.
