1. (C) In response to reftel, Embassy convoked an Emergency
Action Committee (EAC) meeting on Friday, July 14, 2006,
attended by Ambassador, A/DCM, P/E, RSO, DET CDR, LEGATT,
DEA, IRS, CON, ORA, IPO, MLO, USAID, OFDA, PAS, OBO, and GSO.
A/DCM explained the need to review the security posture of
posts worldwide in view of the escalation of Middle East
hostilities.
2. (C) RSO informed the EAC that MSG Detachment,
Surveillance Detection Unit, and Contract Guards are
operating at a higher state of a alert than usual. RSO is
unaware of planned demonstrations or specific threats
directed against the U.S. Mission in Barbados and Grenada.
3. (C) Post will continue to monitor local reaction to events
in the Middle East and will take actions to counter potential
threats to USG and American community interests accordingly.
