1. Embassy Bridgetown has received from the Government of
St. Christopher (Kitts) and Nevis the following response to
the demarche on the Beneficiaries of the Caribbean Basin
Trade Partnership Act (CBTPA) dated June 8, 2006 (ref B).
Begin text:
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Trade,
Industry and Commerce presents its compliments to the Embassy
of the United States and has the honour to acknowledge and
share the concerns of the Embassy regarding the need for
unanimity of support by WTO members for a waiver to allow for
benefits under the Caribbean Basin Economic Recovery Act.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Trade,
Industry and Commerce has the further honor to indicate that
it has taken action to encourage support for waiver.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Trade,
Industry and Commerce avails itself of this opportunity to
renew to the Embassy of the United States the assurances of
its high consideration.
