Secretary Rice's letter pledging U.S. support for the Human

SIPDIS
Rights Council and for those candidates with a genuine
commitment to human rights to Foreign Minister Carolina Barco
on April 12. Barco thanked the Ambassador for the letter and
agreed the approach made sense. Colombia has no plans to
seek a seat on the Council.
