(C) Poloff delivered the message in reftel A on June 2 to
Hellmut Hoffmann, Director of the MFA's Office of Nuclear
Nonproliferation. Hoffmann, who had just returned to Berlin
from the June 1 P5-Plus-Germany meeting in Vienna, said that
he had not yet had a chance to read the NAM ministerial
statement, but noted that he was aware that it was
problematic. Hoffmann said Germany would bear in mind the
reftel A request in the context of future EU3 outreach
efforts.
