(C) In a private meeting with Prime Minister (PM) Said Musa
on the afternoon of May 31, Amb. Dieter delivered points on
the Secretary's Iran Statement (reftel). The PM said that
he was pleased with the Secretary's statement, and that he
hoped Iran now would seek a negotiated settlement of the
nuclear issue. The Ambassador then said the U.S. would
appreciate the Government of Belize's taking any opportunity
to speak out with respect to Iran, including a public
statement. The PM nodded in assent, but did not make any
specific commitment.
