1. (U) Summary: Official preliminary results for the
September 10 parliamentary election were announced late on
September 12. As reported earlier (ref),the ruling
DPS/SDP coalition has an absolute majority, with 41 of 81
seats. End summary.


2. (U) Official preliminary results were announced by the
Republic Election Commission late on September 12. No
appeals to the results are expected, with the opposition
parties having already accepted the results. The final
results will therefore be unchanged. As the largest
opposition coalition, as listed on the ballot, the Serbian
List will be the official Leader of the Opposition. See ref
for full description of the parties.
