(C) On December 13, poloff delivered reftel demarche to
Director of International Organizations Ayman Aamry. Aamry
appreciated our sharing the report of the outcome of the 2006
plenary in Copenhagen. He noted that the international
community was increasingly tightening existing multilateral
and bilateral mechanisms to contain proliferation. He
highlighted Jordan's general support for these efforts,
specifically citing Jordan's work to fully implement its
obligations under the Chemical Weapons Convention. He
thanked the United States for its technical assistance to
further secure Jordan's borders against transits and
transshipments involving weapons of mass destruction,
missile-related items, and arms smuggling.
