poloff delivered ref C demarche to Counselor Ayman Aamiry and
Azzam Alameddin of the Foreign Ministry's International
Organizations Department on October 10. Aamiry said he
understood the position of the U.S., Australia and New
Zealand on the Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous
Peoples. Citing Algeria as an example, Alameddin commented
that although Jordan has no issues with indigenous groups,
other Arab countries do, and Jordan would side with them in
any vote.
