1. The U.S. Mission Nigeria has reviewed the National Institutes of
Health's award of a research project entitled "Lifespan/Tufts/Brown
Center for AIDS Research" (NIH study AI042853 09) and involving a
Nigerian institution, Abia State University, Abia State.
2. The U.S. Mission Nigeria has no foreign-policy objection to this
study and approves it, provided that local Institutional Review
Board approval is obtained. The U.S. Mission also suggests strongly
that the Nigerian Ministry of Health be informed of this research
project.
