(C) On October 14 we delivered reftel A points and letter to
Deputy Minister of Trade and Economic Development Tigran
Davtyan. Davtyan said he was not aware of the potential
impact of the UNESCO Cultural Diversity Convention on trade
issues. He agreed to pass immediately Secretary Gutierrez's
letter to the Minister and to contact the MFA to express the
Ministry of Trade's "possible concern" that the convention
might negatively impact free trade. Note: A representative
from the MFA told us in late September that the GOAM has
already committed to support the convention (reftels B and C).
