1. (U) On June 2, 2005, Felix Madera was returned to the
United States in the company of a U.S. Marshal. Madera is
wanted for sentencing in the United States District Court for
the District of New Jersey on federal narcotics offenses.

2. (U) Madera was arrested by the Dominican National
Directorate for Drug Control (DNCD) on an arrest warrant
based on a USG request for extradition. Miranda waived his
right to an extradition hearing in front of the Criminal
Chamber of the Dominican Supreme Court and executed a
witnessed, notarized affidavit indicating his desire to
return voluntarily to the United States.

2. (U) The return of Felix Madera marks the 25th fugitive
subject to extradition who has been returned to the United
States during the second administration of President Leonel
Fernandez. He is the 12th fugitive returned from the
Dominican Republic to the United States in 2005.
