DOMINICAN REPUBLIC

The Charge d'Affaires and political officer delivered reftel
points, urging support for fiscal restraint on the ILO's
proposed budget for 2006-07, to Deputy Foreign Minister
Alejandra Liriano on March 2, and left the points as a
non-paper in Spanish. The Deputy FM undertook to pass the
information to UN/OAS division deputy director Rhadys Abreu
de Polanco, who normally attends UN meetings in Geneva or
instructs the Dominican ambassador there. There was no
immediate substantive reaction to our demarche.
