1. (C) Post EAC convened on May 23 to discuss options for
the future of post's residential guard force program. Key
offices and personnel represented at the meeting included:
AMB, DAT, FPD, MO, LEGATT, POLE, POLM, OMC, CCE-Y, USAID,
RSO, CONS, and PD.
2. (C) EAC members reviewed discussion and instructions to
date regarding funding and support for post's residential
guard program. EAC assessed the role of the residential
guard force and discussed options and scenarios for their
continuing activities. EAC members agreed that the
residential guards provide a valuable service, particularly
in terms of surveillance detection and local security liasion
roles. Further details concerns post's assessment will be
sent via septel.
3. (SBU) Post EAC will convene next on May 29.
