1. (C) Acting Pol/C met October 25 with MFA Director of UN
Affairs Nacer Bourita to discuss reftel appeal for
contributions to the international effort to provide
earthquake relief and rehabilitation to Pakistan. Bourita
noted that he was in the process of drafting a decision memo
on this very topic for the Minister regarding the FM's
attendance at the October 26 donors conference in Geneva.
Bourita said that he would certainly incorporate our
information and request for assistance into the memo for the
Minister. While he did not yet know if the Minister would
attend, Bourita noted that he would provide us with any
feedback received.
