1.Post welcomes award of subject project No.
MH074369-01A1 involving a foreign institution.
Post notes that foreign grantee institution
(South Africa) is University of Witwatersrand,
Perinatal HIV Research Unit, Bertsham, with
James McIntyre as Foreign Principal
Investigator. Post notes that investigators
have obtained human subjects assurance
identification No. FWA00000715.


2. Proposed award is for a research project
entitled HIV Prevention Among High Risk Men in
South Africa. The scientific objectives of
this project, as outlined in reftel, are
important to South Africa. Post would
appreciate receiving a summary of the project
application for its records. This, as well as
research results, should be conveyed to Health

3.It is anticipated that foreign funding
under this grant will be (All funding to South

4.As project implementation proceeds, Post
would appreciate receiving copies of annual
progress reports prepared by investigators and
