(C) Following initial reaction to our demarche (ref B),DCM
again discussed the Uigher case with MFA Director of Cabinet
Pierre Vimont. Vimont indicated, in his understated style,
that the GoF was "rather reserved" about the idea of
accepting the Uighers. Vimont added that the outlook for a
positive response did not look good, although the matter was
technically still under deliberation. Post transmitted the
biographical information regarding the 15 detainees to Vimont
for further consideration.
