1. (C) Reftel points were delivered on May 2 to the APEC Unit
of Foreign Affairs Canada's International Economic Relations
and Summit Division (EER),the International Crime Division
(AGC) and the Regional Security Office (IDC). In a follow up
discussion on May 6, AGC's Katie McLaurin informed polmiloff
that the Government of Canada would co-sponsor the U.S.
initiative on radioactive sources and would announce its
support in Seoul. McLaurin said Canada would like to
coordinate with the U.S. and other co-sponsors on approaches
to other economies for support in advance of the APEC
Counterterrorism Task Force Meeting and Senior Officials'
Meeting.
