Your Excellency,

I was deeply saddened to learn about the tragic loss of lives
and extensive damage to properties caused by
Hurricane Katrina in the States of Louisiana, Mississippi,
and Alabama.

On behalf of the people of Bhutan and on my own behalf, I
would like to express our solidarity and send our deepest
condolences to Your Excellency and the people of America
during this difficult time. Our hearts and prayers go out
to the families that have lost their loved ones, and to the
countless men and women who, in the tradition of your
great country, brave the dangers in the rescue operations and
selflessly contribute towards assisting those who have
been affected by this disaster.

Please accept, Your Excellency, the assurances of my highest
consideration.
