On November 17 poloff delivered reftel talking points and
background to Mr. Faruque Faquira, Head of Department,
Directorate for International Organizations and Conferences,
Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Though Faquira could not
confirm exactly which member nations the GRM intended to
elect to the IMO Council, he stated he did not see an issue
with supporting the United States' candidacy since there are
ten candidates for ten vacancies.
