Begin text:
Dear Mr. President,
I have the honour to convey to Your Excellency that
Mozambique held its third Multiparty General Elections on
the 1st and 2nd of December, 2004. These elections, which
were declared free and fair by the Mozambican people and
the International Community, were yet another outstanding
chapter in the consolidation of peace and democracy in
Mozambique.
The swearing in of the new President, His Excellency
Armando Emilio Guebuza, will be held on the 2 of February
2005 in Maputo at 10 a.m. In this context it gives me a
great pleasure and honour to extend an invitation to your
Excellency to take part in this auspicious event.
We would feel greatly honoured if you could bless us with
your presence. We are confident that your participation
would contribute to the further strengthening of relations
of friendship and cooperation that so happily exist between
our two peoples and countries.
Please accept, Excellency, the assurances of my highest
consideration.
Joaquim Alberto Chissano
President of the Republic of Mozambique
