1. (SBU) As reported in ref B, Ambassador met with Finance
Minister Bader Al-Humaidhi on November 1 to commend the GOK
for its $100M pledge and to urge increased GOK assistance to
earthquake relief efforts in Pakistan. Without offering
specifics, Al-Humaidhi said that the initial $100M package
was "only the start" of the GOK's relief efforts.
2. (SBU) The GOK will be closed for the Muslim Eid holiday
(November 3-6). Embassy will follow-up with relevant GOK
ministries after Eid to gauge the possibility of additional
GOK pledges by the November 19 conference and will report
findings to Washington.
