2. (SBU) Post supports the idea of convening and
institutionalizing USG-sponsored annual regional conferences
on combating terrorism finance and money laundering (CTF/AML)
with the participation of Emboffs, other appropriate USG
agencies, UN agencies, host government and industry
representatives to facilitate and enhance information sharing
and coordination within the broader CTF/AML effort.
Conferences should rotate in regional capitals and focus on
identifying best practices, areas of CTF/AML improvement,
improved information exchange, and future areas of
cooperation (see refs B and C for summary of recent OFAC
visit).

3. (SBU) Post welcomes public diplomacy packages in Arabic
on CTF/AML goals and priorities to be shared with host
country governments and publics, including industry
representatives (banks, financial institutions) . Such
material can include information posters, brochures, CDROMS,
magazines and other appropriate multimedia tools that
highlight the importance of international cooperation on
CTF/AML.

4. (SBU) Post encourages continued and timely information
from Washington on new initiatives, requirements, and
country-specific requests to help target and tailor TF
reporting to address interagency goals and objectives.
