1. Embassy Dublin warmly welcomes the visit of CODEL
KOLBE and seeks clarification on the point of arrival in
Ireland. Reftel states arrival will be January 12 at 0100
in Shannon. Post has learned through DOD channels that
arrival will be at Casement (also known as Baldonal),the
Dublin military airfield.

2. Control Officer for the visit is Ernie Parkin (tel.
353-1-668-8777, ext 2232 (W),353-87-929-3403 (C),353-1-
218-9598 (H).

3. The following schedule is offered, based on a
Casement arrival:

0040 Arrival at Casement
0140 Arrival and check-in at Westin Hotel, Dublin
1000-1200 Brunch
1200-1400 Tourism and shopping
1400 Baggage call
1440 Departure from the hotel
1540 Take-off from Casement

4. As no official schedule in Ireland is planned by the
CODEL, no control room is foreseen. Embassy would be
pleased to provide a substantive briefing to the
delegation on U.S.-Ireland issues, but, given the short
duration and technical nature of the stop, we will stand
down on such a briefing unless otherwise instructed. On
the day of the visit there will be a hospitality suite
with two computers with internet access. Per diem will be
issued and reverse accommodation provided between 0900 and
the end of the visit.

5. Post would appreciate confirmation that these
arrangements are acceptable. Please forward a passenger
manifest and passport details for CODEL members as soon as
they are available.
